To make David one of my people favorites, I clicked the star beside his name in the people card.įigure 2: Managing the set of people and group favorites in OWAīehind the scenes, Exchange Online creates a folder in the non-IPM section of the mailbox to hold pointers to items relating to the favorite. In Figure 1, I’ve selected David Los, who works on OWA (seems appropriate). To mark someone as a people favorite, use OWA to select a message where they are a recipient or sender and click their email address to expose their people card. People favorites are designed to give quick and simple access to messages from those who are important to you, like your direct manager or critical customers.

This feature will be dependent upon the service being enabled for Modern Authentication. We have more and more clients asking about MFA so this will be a welcome addition. The Outlook client is being converted over to support “Modern Authentication” which provides for more of a single sign-on experience and allows for true Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). If you’re running an “Office Insider” build of Office for Mac, you likely saw this already.

In Outlook for Windows and Mac, you’ll see a similar button added for this action on the Delete pane. The action has no bearing on the actual retention of that item, it’s just a shortcut for dragging the item into a folder. Basically the user is presented with a button called “Archive” that does nothing more than allows the user to move a message to a folder they designate.
